Termite Prevention and Treatment
Residential • Commercial • Pre-Construction
Termites inflict more than $2 billion dollars in damage across the country every year. Currently, more than three-quarters of all Florida homeowners employ some type of termite and pest control protection for their home.
Florida is home to 3 principle types of termites:
Subterranean, which nest in the soil
Drywood, which infest wood above the soil, and
Dampwood, which infest damp wood
Subterranean termites are perhaps the most destructive; although they nest in the soil, they can infest structures by creating underground tunnels or ‘tubes’ that connect to the wooden portion of a building and in many cases, cause thousands of dollars in damage.
Identifying which type of termite a property is faced with is key to controlling and treating the colony as well as protecting your investment. At Top Notch Pest Control, our trained technicians conduct a thorough termite inspection to evaluate threats, activity or damage and utilize both conventional methods (drill and/or trench) as well as baiting systems. In addition, Top Notch Pest Control’s trained technicians also perform new construction soil treatments.
The Top Notch Pest Control Termite Treatment Process Includes:
Moving all necessary items to access treatment areas as well as putting them back in place.
Providing the Federal EPA product label before we begin any work, which lists each step that must be legally implemented for every application.
Forming a 6-inch by 6-inch trench on all foundations where the soil touches the structure.
Application of 4 gallons of finished product in and below the trench, per every 10 linear feet (Ex: 40 linear feet require 16 gallons of finished product), followed by re-smoothing the soil over treated trenches.
Drilling a 5/8” hole every 12 inches into concrete perimeters touching the foundation. (Includes porch, sidewalks, lanai, garage, etc)
Patching, sealing and smoothing all exterior and interior drill holes.
Drilling 5/8” below the slab line at a 45-degree angle into all hollow block foundations.
Removal of plumbing access vents and covers and application of materials to any access points. (i.e.: loose soil)
Retreatment of any and all area of re-infestation at no cost to you, as described in the Top Notch Pest Control Wood Destroying Organisms Agreement.*
*In addition, Top Notch Pest Control provides a 7 year limited warranty, which is transferable to future owners, provided the annual renewal fee is paid by each yearly due date.
